Dad's Book Club is an independently published editorial book club.

Selection criteria

A Shelf pick must be finishable in a month at twenty minutes a night (about 350 pages or fewer), discussion-rich rather than merely likable, in print and easy to obtain, and picked for our reader rather than for awards season. Kitchen Table picks additionally must hold up read aloud in their age band.

The standing rule: picks never track commissions, and a book with no affiliate listing still gets picked when it is the right book.

Corrections

Errors are fixed in place with a dated note. If a pick page changes materially, the change is dated on the page.
